A major concern over the introduction of new software in the business is often “How do I make sure my staff are using it effectively, without sending them on expensive training courses?” Modus astute comes with a fully integrated training solution available whenever it is required.

Training covers all modules in the package, to suit all staff:

To make it easy for staff to get familiar with the software, the astute training is separated into 10 areas, covering all aspects of the software. The package also includes Financial Awareness training, covering the basic building blocks of financial management. We also recognise the benefits to your business of using Microsoft Office, but are aware that many staff do not utilise the software to its full potential. We have therefore included seven on-line Microsoft modules, designed to run alongside astute learning.

Systems training is often delivered in a training centre or in a meeting room on customer sites, taking staff away from their desks for a period of 1 or 2 days. In a small business, this has a direct impact on profitability and can mean unanswered phones, missed opportunities and work left undone. Being in-built and internet-based, Modus Learning is designed to allow staff to learn from their desks (or even at home), in short, manageable chunks that fit in around the rest of their workload.

Unlike a one-off, structured face-to-face training session (much of which can be forgotten days or weeks after the training), Modus Learning can be used again and again. This allows staff to test or refresh their knowledge, and then move on to using more complex features within the software. New staff can start their training as soon as they are in place, rather than waiting for the next training session, or for another member of staff to show them the ropes.

Because the training is ‘always on’ via the internet, and built into the software, staff can learn whenever and wherever they need to, and at their own pace. Within the software, support is provided through pop-up help where required and passive help in all other places. This can easily be updated, so you can add specific messages on areas where staff need more help.

The on-line training uses a range of simulation lessons, showing staff how to use the system without making mistakes on the live system. Each staff member has their own log-in, and training is tracked by the Learning Management System, feeding back monthly progress reports to managers.
